Losing skid continues for Rams at Shawnee State

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — Make is 18 losses in the row for Bluefield College, after the Rams were swept by the Bears 7-3 and 9-1.

Kasey Holcomb had two of Bluefield’s five hits in the 7-3 opening game loss. Aline Uehara, Morgan Stephens and Brienna Sparks all drove in run.

Uehara hit a home run, while Shawnee State had three long balls against losing pitcher Ali Bartley.

Uehara had a hit and run scored in the finale, while Sparks drove in a run in the nightcap.

Tara Duncan had three hits and five RBIs for Shawnee State off Anna Davis, who was saddled with the loss.

Bluefield (3-43, 1-31) will complete its season next week, hostng St. Catharine on Friday and Campbellsville the following afternoon.
