Concord splits twinbill with Bobcats

BUCKHANNON — The Concord University baseball team concluded its weekend series with West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, splitting two games with the Bobcats.

The Mountain Lions won 11-2 in the first game, clinching three wins in the four-game set, and lost the finale 6-2 in their last road game of the regular season.

The Bobcats got a 4-for-4 performance from Michael Logsdon in the final game. Wesleyan is now 8-21-1 overall.

No further information was available late Saturday night.

Concord (29-13, 26-10 Mountain East) plays its last eight regular-season contests at Anderson Field, starting with a four-game set against West Liberty next Saturday and Sunday.

The Mountain Lions are currently in second place behind Shepherd in the conference standings. Wesleyan is next-to-last in the 12-team league. The Mountain East baseball championship tournament will return to Beckley on May 8-11.
