Concord baseball plays at 11 a.m. Thursday

ATHENS — The Concord University baseball team will begin play in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region tournament at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Gene Hooks Stadium, a 6,000-seat facility in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The sixth-seeded Mountain Lions meet top seed Millersville (Pa.). Both teams will advance to Friday’s action in the double-elimination tournament.

The stadium is the home of the Demon Deacons baseball team of Wake Forest University. With the exception of the pitcher's mound, the playing surface of the stadium is artificial turf.
