COLUMBIA, Ky. —
The 17th-ranked team in NAIA football proved too much for Bluefield College to handle on Saturday, as the Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raiders routed the Rams 51-3 in a Mid-South Conference contest.
Bluefield’s Caleb Frye cut the home team’s lead to 10-3 on a 29-yard field goal with 6:52 left before halftime. Lindsey Wilson (8-2, 3-2 MSC) then scored 41 straight points.
Frank Brooks had 12 unassisted tackles and an interception for Bluefield (0-10), and Anthony Rivers also had a pickoff, but on offense the Rams suffered four turnovers.
Armani Ford was 8 for 13 passing for 65 yards for the Rams, and Joshua Erby was 4 for 9 for 33 yards. Bluefield’s leading rusher was Clifton Bishop, with 37 yards on nine carries.
The Blue Raiders’ Rome Cotton ran for 118 yards and went over 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Jake Tieken was 21 of 32 passing with three touchdowns and two interceptions.
Lindsey Wilson racked up 503 offensive yards and 30 first downs.
The Rams host Cumberlands on Saturday to close out their second season in modern football history.
