CU sweeps Mountain East baseball weekly honors

BRIDGEPORT — Concord’s Joey Miller, top, and Ryan Weatherholtz, bottom, were named Mountain East Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, on Monday. The two helped the Mountain Lions take two out of three games against Pitt-Johnstown over the weekend.

Weatherholtz, a senior right-hander. shut down the UPJ offense allowing just three runs over eight innings with four strikeouts and no walks.

Miller, a senior first baseman, went 9-for-13 with four runs, two home runs and seven RBI in three games. Four of his nine hits went for extra bases, and he was a triple shy of the cycle in the final game of the series against the Mountain Cats.
