Richardson claims NCCAA award

BLUEFIELD —  Bluefield College’s Kayla Richardson has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association Women’s Soccer Division I Defensive Player of the Week. The senior goalkeeper turned away all 12 shots in Sunday’s 2-0 Senior Day win over St. Catharine’s College. The Wren, Ohio native’s performance lifted the Rams’ record to 6-5-1 while also earning the team its first MSC win of the season. Richardson is currently tied for third in the Mid-South Conference in saves with 73 and ranks fifth with a goals-against average of 1.60.
