BSC tennis takes two, stays perfect

BLUEFIELD — The nationally-ranked No. 40 Bluefield State men's tennis team took an 8-1 win over Shepherd University at Bluefield City Courts Saturday morning followed by a 5-2 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan Saturday night at Virginia Tech.

Against Shepherd (6-4, 0-1 WVIAC), the Big Blues (9-2, 4-0) won all its doubles matches and all but one singles match.

The Big Blues escaped the doubles portion ahead 2-1 on West Virginia Wesleyan (4-3, 1-1). Vishwesh Sinha took a 6-2, 6-0 singles win against Oliver Douglas to seal the win for BSC.

The Big Blues return to action Thursday in a 3 p.m. match at Concord.
