Boyd receives honorable mention all-MEC

BRIDGEPORT — Concord University guard-forward Mike Boyd has made the Mountain East Conference honorable mention team, the league office announced Tuesday.

This season Boyd recorded team-highs in scoring (14.2 ppg), free throw percentage (76.2), assists (4.1 per game), steals (1.3 per game) and minutes played (31.7 per game) while also placing second on the team in field goal percentage at 53.2 (124-for-233).

Boyd had five or more assists in 11 games this year and at least 10 points on 23 occasions. He finished the regular season ranked eighth in the conference in assists.

For his career, Boyd has started 81 of 84 games played and already ranks fourth in Concord history in games started, fifth in minutes played (2,527), sixth in free throws made (324), seventh in assists per game (4.2) and 10th in total assists (355).
