National honors for BC athlete; Warner still trying to sigh with Rams

BLUEFIELD, Va. —  Bluefield senior baseball standout Zac Russell-Myers has been chosen as the National Christian College Athletic Association’s Student-Athlete of the Week. Russell-Myers, a native of Advance, N.C., led the Rams to a four-game sweep at Benedict College in Columbia, S.C. last weekend. Serving mostly as a designated hitter, Russell-Myers was 8 for 14, with three doubles and a home run, along with 10 RBIs, seven runs scored and a stolen base. He also worked three innings of one-hit baseball on the mound.

Lexie Warner is trying. The Richlands senior cross     country runner has twice been scheduled for a signing ceremony to announce her intentions to participate in the sport at Bluefield College. Both ceremonies have been snowed out. Warner, who was a three-time All-Southwest District runner, and an All-Region IV honoree, will try again in the near future.
