Played defensive end at Woodgrove High School for head coach Mike Skinner … only played two seasons of high school football after converting from a power forward on the basketball team … a three-star recruit by ESPN.com, Rivals.com, Scout.com and 247Sports … in 2013 helped the Wolverines to a 9-4 record, a Dulles District championship and a third round appearance in the VHSL 4A state championship … was a first-team all-state honoree with 86 tackles and 17 sacks as a senior … posted 30 career sacks in his two years of high school football as a defensive end and a hybrid outside linebacker … also named all-region and second-team Washington Post All-Met … has lived in four states (Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia).
