CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. —
Brian Anderson homered and drove in two runs and Arkansas got four innings of scoreless relief in its 3-2 win over Liberty on Friday night in the Charlottesville regional.
Anderson hit his home run in the second inning and then followed with an RBI single in the fourth for the Razorbacks (39-23).
Liberty (41-17) tried to rally from a 3-1 deficit in the fifth inning with an RBI sacrifice fly from Dalton Britt, but the Flames failed to get any closer.
Arkansas’ Michael Gunn and Jacob Stone combined to allow one hit in relief. Starter Chris Oliver (9-4) earned the win after allowing two runs on four hits in five innings. Stone left a runner stranded at third base in the ninth inning, earning his fourth save.
Trey Lambert took the loss for the Flames, giving up three earned runs while striking out five Razorbacks in 6 1/3 innings.
The Flames will take on Bucknell today at 2 p.m. in an elimination game. Arkansas plays Virginia at 8 p.m.
