Being watched

BLUEFIELD —  A pair of Virginia Tech and Virginia football players have been chosen to the Bednarik Award Watch List. Virginia Tech defensive lineman Luther Maddy (55 tackles, 13.5 tfl, 6.5 sacks) and defensive back Kendall Fuller (58 tackles, 6 interceptions) were selected as players to watch for the Bednarik Award, which goes to the national defensive player of the year. Virginia defensive end Eli Harold and safety Anthony Harris (8 int, in ‘13), pictured, are also on the list. Safety Karl Joseph (68 tkls in ‘13) represents West Virginia, while James Rouse was chosen from Marshall...Chris Jasperse of Marshall has been chosen for the Rimington Trophy Watch List, which goes to the top center in the nation...Eight other award watch lists will be released between today and July 18, continuing today with the Ray Guy Award (top punter).
