WVU's Sims, O'Toole win Big 12 honors

DALLAS — A pair of West Virginia football players have been chosen as Big 12 Football Players of the Week after last Saturday’s 30-21 upset of No. 11 Oklahoma State.

Charles Sims earned Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors. He had 157 all-purpose yards, finishing with 18 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown. He also tied for the team lead with five catches for a team-best 82 yards and returned a kickoff for 15 yards.

West Virginia punter Nick O’Toole claimed the Special Teams Player of the Week award, punting eight times for an average of 44.6 yards per kick. He placed two inside the Cowboy’s 20-yard line, and finished with three punts of 50-plus yards.
