The Concord University softball team snapped a five-game losing streak with a doubleheader sweep at Davis & Elkins 2-1 and 17-5 on Wednesday afternoon.
Concord improved to 16-21 on the season, and 4-8 in the WVIAC.
Alyssa Morris had a game-winning double in the opening game, and joined Becca Gleason with two hits apiece. Rachael Mack picked up the win on the mound, while Lacey McDougall picked up the save.
Four players had multiple hits in the nightcap, led by Hayley Wade with three hits, while Gleason and Jessica Seymour had two apiece.
McDougall picked up the win in the cirlce, while Brantlea Wood recorded the save.
Concord will visit Shepherd on Saturday and Seton Hill on Sunday.
Bears sweep Rams
BLUEFIELD, Va. — The Lady Rams dropped a pair of non-conference games, falling to West Virginia Tech 5-3 and 14-1.
Bluefield (7-25) committed seven errors in each of the two games.
Morgan Stephens had three hits in the opener for the Rams, while Kasey Holcomb added two. Jessica Dutka scored twice. Aline Uehara allowed just five hits, but took the loss.
The Bears had 16 hits in the nightcap, scoring 11 runs combined in the third and fourth innings.
Bluefield had two hits, one each by Uehara and Kourtney McGrady.
Megan Meismer was saddled with the loss.
