WVU linebacker Henry dismissed after arrest

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia linebacker d’Vante Henry has been dismissed from the team after his arrest on a second-degree sexual assault charge.

The 21-year-old Henry was arrested Wednesday. A criminal complaint says a woman told deputies she had been sexually assaulted at an apartment Sunday.

The complaint says she indicated Henry entered her room and forced her to have sex. She told Henry to stop, but he told her to “shut up” and continued. Henry told an officer the sex was consensual.

Henry was being held on $100,000 bond at the North Central Regional Jail. Jail records didn’t indicate whether he has an attorney.

Henry is a junior college transfer who didn’t participate in preseason practice. Football coach Dana Holgorsen says Henry’s no longer on the team.
