McDaniel leads Lady Rams past Wasps

EMORY, Va — James Monroe product Jade McDaniel scored 18 points to lead Bluefield College to a 72-40 rout of Emory & Henry on Thursday.

Janee Simmons added 12 points for Bluefield, while Asia Wheeler contributed 11 points and 12 boards. Monique Robson also scored 10 points.

Whitney Smith and Teqa McNeal dished out three assists apiece. Wheeler also added three steals.

Karina Farr led the Wasps (1-7) with 11 points and eight boards.

Bluefield (5-4) will visit Virginia Intermont tonight.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — At least it didn’t count for Bluefield College, which traveled to face the Division I Bulldogs in an exhibition game.

D.J. Cunningham led North Carolina-Asheville (2-7) of the Big South with 16 points, whle Jaron Lane added 15 and Andrew Rowsey tossed in 14.

Bluefield was paced by Josh Nesbit with 17 points. Andrew Wilson added nine points and Alex Lubsey collected eight.

Chudier Pal added 11 points and David Robertson tallied 10 for the Bulldogs.

Kearsten Marion dished out five assists for Bluefield (5-2), which will travel Sunday to Washington Adventist.
