Found: One artificial leg, new shoe attached

DALTON, Ga. — Sharon Roberts and her daughter, Kadee, made an unusual roadside discovery on their way home from a doctor's appointment last week.

Roberts said she was driving on this city's north bypass when she spotted an artificial limb on the side of the road. She turned back for it. Kadee, 11, helped retrieve it.

Roberts has made a mission of finding the owner, she said, "because I know they've got to be expensive."

Attached to the limb is a shoe, which Roberts believes to be a men's size 13, extra-wide. The shoe looks new, she said, though the device might have gotten banged up a bit when it fell onto the road.

Those with information about the leg's owner may email rachelbrown@daltoncitizen.com; messages will be forwarded to Roberts.
