Grade 18
Responsible for the administration of the affairs of a multi-county agency that serves the needs of seniors through a variety of public and non-profit programs, consisting of social work, case management, public transportation, rural PACE, and support services; performs long and short term range planning, financial projections, preparation of budgets, purchasing, computerization and represents the agency. Prepares reports, directives and others materials; provides administrative oversight of personnel functions. Monitors agency operations for compliance with federal, state, and local mandates. Writes grants and seeks new funding opportunities. Prepares reports for board and government compliance. Works with boards and committees of the communities to establish contracts and make effective presentations on agency goals and plans. Significant public contact is required and position requires independent decision-making and action.
Minimum Requirements: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from college with a major in business, management, public administration, planning and with five (5) years of responsible management experience in social services or a related field or in a capacity requiring frequent contact with and understanding of the operation of public agencies. Ability to work effectively with boards and committees, ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate budgets; ability to manage people, ability to organize, plan and implement activities appropriate to further organizational goals.
Preferred
Requirements:
Master's degree and/or five (5) years management of human services programs; experience in Area Agency on Aging programs.
