PRINCETON — ResCare, the nation's leading provider of residential, training, theraputic, educational and support services for people with disabilities and special needs, recently announced that the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) selected Sherry French, direct support professional at ResCare West Virginia - Princeton Agency, as state winner in its third Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Year contest.
Ms. French was one of only 39 honorees from other states selected from hundreds of nominations. ResCare West Virginia Executive Director Christene Riggins nominated Ms. French for the award.
“Sherry embraces the concept that helping people do meaningful activities enhances their lives,” Ms. Riggins wrote. “She is constantly looking for work for them to give the people we serve a sense of accomplishment, like power washing group homes in the summers, blowing leaves in the fall and securing van maintenance jobs for two of the supportive living consumers.”
