Rockslide halts traffic on Route 52

BRAMWELL — Firefighters and state Department of Highways workers were on the scene Monday evening of a rockslide closing part of U.S. Route 52.

Mercer County 911 received a call at approximately 8:52 p.m. about a rockslide closing both lanes of Route 52 in the vicinity of Hunk Hollow Road near Bramwell, a dispatcher said.

One lane was opened at approximately 9:15 p.m. and traffic was allowed to pass. The Bramwell Volunteer Fire Department was on the scene, and crews with the state Department of Highways had been sent, the dispatcher said.

There was no estimate immediately available about when both lanes would be cleared.
