The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force conducted a drug sweep of the Big Creek Area (War) today that resulted in the arrests of 12 individuals, according to Sgt. James C. Muncy Jr., of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office. He said that the arrests came as a result of an extensive investigation over the past several months.
Of the 12 individuals who were arrested on a variety of drug charges, only two were able to make bail. In addition to the 12 who were arrested, there are 9 additional individuals who are named in warrants, but were not taken into custody today.
The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation and is actively pursuing the arrest of the nine suspects who remain at large.
